Idler’s Rest is going to the dogs! Well, figuratively that is. Join us in celebrating the legacy and life of Mark Anderson with a special Dog Day at Idler's Rest and supply drive for the Humane Society of the Palouse. Join in the official dedication of the Mark Anderson Memorial Dog Station at the main kiosk with reflections and memories of Mark and his beloved trail buddy Lola. Later, explore the trails with your favorite pal, get great resources and information from Dr. Bales of the Animal Clinic, Renee Piper of Tail Waggin’ Adventures, HSoP staff members, and more.

If you and your pup are trail runners, we’re hosting a special event just for you! Join in pup/human trail sprint races around the Highland Loop with a special prize basket for our fastest pair. We’ll also be counting pups to attempt a “world record” number of doggos at the Preserve, we can’t wait to see you! All friendly, leashed, four-legged friends are welcome.
