The Permanence Circle: Creating your land legacy

Including Palouse Land Trust in your will is one of the easiest gifts you can make, and one that will share your passion for the landscape for generations to come. It’s an investment in the vision we share for our community and the lands we love. And it’s an incredibly powerful gift that not only honors your connection to the land, but is customizable to your needs and desires, and helps reduce the burden of federal and estate taxes.

Your estate advisor can include simple language in your will that leaves a lasting gift to PLT. Your bequest could be a gift of specific assets, a dollar amount, or a percentage of your estate. You can also name the Land Trust as a beneficiary of your retirement or life insurance policies, which does not require you to change or otherwise update your will or trust.

Bequest of a Specific or Residual Gift

I hereby, give, devise and bequeath $DOLLARS to Palouse Land Trust, Inc., a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8506, Moscow ID, 83843, Federal Tax ID #94-321-9418, for Palouse Land Trust’s general use and purpose.

OR

I hereby, give, devise, bequeath (% AMOUNT) of all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to Palouse Land Trust, Inc., a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8506, Moscow ID, 83843, Federal Tax ID #94-321-9418, for Palouse Land Trust’s general use and purpose.

Bequest of Specific Personal Property

I hereby give, devise and bequeath DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY to Palouse Land Trust, Inc., a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8506, Moscow ID, 83843, Federal Tax ID #94-321-9418, for Palouse Land Trust’s general use and purpose.

Bequest of Specific Real Estate

I hereby give, devise and bequeath all of the right, title and interest in and to the real estate located at ADDRESS OR DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY to Palouse Land Trust, Inc., a nonprofit organization located at PO Box 8506, Moscow ID, 83843, Federal Tax ID #94-3219418, for Palouse Land Trust’s general use and purpose.

Donor Advised Funds (DAF’s)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably inclined individuals, families, and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock, and, in some cases, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
