Wrap up summer break with a stewardship project that you can feel good about!
Jack fences are natural fences constructed from found timber, consisting of rails which are supported by two uprights that are joined together at an angle to form a long legged X. They’re super easy to construct and really fun to install - and we need your help! We will be installing jack fences along the Highland Loop Trail on the forested side of Idler’s Rest and could use some awesome volunteers.
Come prepared with sturdy boots, gloves, water, and a can-do attitude. We will provide experience, cold water, snacks, and PLT stickers! Meet us in the parking lot a little before 5:00pm to trek out to the boundary. If you show up a little late, we will be working along the west edge of Highland Loop trail, where the small ponderosa stand borders the hay field.
