Tales along the TrailsReading station map
Through the entire month of September you can find 4 comfy reading spots along the trails at Idler's Rest Nature Preserve.  Each week will feature a new theme with books for all ages and reading levels.  Of course, we'd love for you to bring your own books to enjoy as well!

Week one:  Poetry
Week two: Nature Fiction
Week three: Regional Interest
Week four: Nature Non-Fiction

Share photos of your adventures on our Idler's Rest Facebook Page.

Book locations on the map
1. Along the "new" loop off of the Mountain View Trail
2. Along Cedar Grove Trail (near post 12, in the big clearing)
3. At the big bridge at the end of the Cedar Grove Trail
4. Along Highland Trail (at trail juncture)

Exploring books about the land
If you are looking for a good book for yourself or your kids, check out these book lists (click on each to download a PDF). Each is a collection of books about nature, how people come together to protect the land, or how we are all affected by nature. Some are classics and others are newly published. These represent just a small selection that is available to the curious reader. Be sure to talk to your local librarians about other outdoor books as well.
